Alpenhorn – Self Catered Holiday Apartments – General Information

Alpenhorn is a two storey, chalet-style accommodation complex situated in Tawonga South on the edge of Mount Beauty.

Alpenhorn has 7 self-contained apartments.  Six apartments are two bedroom/two storey with bedrooms & bathroom downstairs. The kitchen, lounge, dining areas are upstairs with a private balcony off the lounge area. Our one bedroom apartment is ground floor only. The apartments do not share a common wall as they are separated by a 0.75m “breezeway”. This European concept enhances soundproofing, heating/cooling and provides access to services for the units. The second floor balcony can remain private or, by opening the privacy barriers, adjoining apartments can share an extended balcony area.

Alpenhorn has some pleasant gardens and a swimming pool for the summer months. Some of our apartments also enjoy spectacular views across the Kiewa Valley to Victoria’s highest mountain – Mt Bogong.

When staying at Alpenhorn, you will find a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge and dining area with flat screen TV and Bluetooth speaker.  The two bedrooms can sleep up to 6 people with a double bed in one bedroom and a double bed and single bunks in the second bedroom.  All bedding, linen and towels are included.  Free WiFi is offered.  There is a communal BBQ area and garden for relaxing and socialising in.  All of our apartments have reverse cycle air conditioning.

Mount Beauty and the surrounding Kiewa Valley is a beautiful area hosting a wide range of activities including cycling, mountain biking, river swimming, golf, tennis, gliding, paragliding, model plane flying, canoeing, skiing, mountain hiking, and bush walking.  There is an excellent playground, BMX track and skate board park and the locals are very active with many activities put on by the local community.  The area is also known for its vineyards and locally grown fruit and vegetables.  Your host, Nick, is a keen cyclist with an extensive knowledge of the local trails and cycling routes and is keen to share his knowledge.
